Truck Attack in Manhattan Kills 8; NY Mayor Calls it Act of Terror

RadioOnFire.com - Eight people are dead and more than a dozen injured after the driver of a truck drove the wrong way down a well-trafficked bike path, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
"This was an act of terror, and a particularly cowardly act of terror," he said.
The driver of a rental truck drove the wrong way down a busy bicycle path in Manhattan near the World Trade Center, killing up to six people and striking numerous others, a New York Police official said.

The driver then exited the vehicle while displaying imitation firearms and was shot by police, according to the NYPD. The suspect is in police custody and was taken to a hospital for treatment, sources at the NYPD said.
The incident is being investigated as terrorism, according to multiple law enforcement sources. Witnesses reported the suspect was yelling "Allahu Akbar," according to four law enforcement sources. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is taking over the lead of the investigation.

Wendy Williams Passes Out, Falls Down During Halloween Episode

RadioOnFire.com - There was a truly scary moment on Tuesday morning's (Oct. 31) episode of The Wendy Williams Show, when the host, dressed as Lady Liberty, suddenly appeared to get dizzy and faint on camera.

Williams was about to announce the finalists for her syndicated show's Halloween costume contest when her eyes became wide, her voice wavered and a scared look came over her face as she stumbled and fell backwards. "We do it every year... It's always a lot of fun," she began as her words became a bit slurred. "Let's get started. Our first guest..."

Just moments after she spoke those last words and fell a member of her production was seen rushing over to help Williams in a clip posted by a fan on Twitter.

According to E! News, after a break Williams returned and said, "That was not a stunt. I overheated and did pass out, but I'm a champ and I'm back." In a statement released a short time later, a spokesperson for Williams confirmed that the host had fainted on air and plans to address the incident on Wednesday's (Nov. 1) show.

"Ms. Williams fainted on-air this morning," reads the statement from spokesperson Ronn Torossian. "She is dehydrated and is on her way home for a good day and nite of sleep. She has been examined by medical professionals and is well. She is ok and will continue as shows as planned. She will address this on-air tomorrow. She has never missed a day of work and is looking forward on November 13th to her 1500th show."'

A shot time later, Williams tweeted out that she got overheated because of the "heavy costume, makeup and lights."

Former Child Star Corey Feldman Vows to Expose Hollywood's Sex Ring

RadioOnFire.com - Former child star Corey Feldman says it is only a matter of time before the world discovers the magnitude of control pedophiles have over Hollywood, and he is vowing to lead the charge in unmasking the most powerful among them with the help of the public.

During an exclusive sit down with Matt Lauer on the "Today" show on Monday (Oct. 30), Feldman pitched his proposal to produce an independent theatric feature telling his story as a victim of molestation in the film industry. Feldman is looking to raise $10 million to self-finance the film, so that he would have the kind of liberty he says he'd need in order to give an unimpeded account of the prevalence of sexual assault against children behind the scenes.

The NBC host asked why the actor would waste time developing a film when he could very well spill the names on air or in print at any time. He also asked why Feldman is telling the public about his past and current death threats, when he ought to be sitting down with law enforcement. Feldman forcefully defended his course of actions, citing the statute of limitations he believes Hollywood is responsible for getting passed in California and disputing the assumption that he hasn't already divulged the information to authorities. He added that he hasn't up until this point been able to get specific about his claims because gatekeepers wouldn't let him.
“The publishers prevented me to name names,” Feldman said in reference to his failure to expose the names in his 2013 memoir, “which is why I’m taking the matter into my own hands.”

Remy Ma Signs Multi-Million Dollar Deal with Columbia Records

RadioOnFire.com - Remy Ma will return for the eighth season of Love & Hip Hop: New York, which is set to premiere tonight (Oct. 30) on VH1. In music related news, the Bronx rapper has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Records. The label will release Rem's first solo effort since her release from prison in 2014.

The news surfaced on social media earlier today, but a representative from Columbia Records confirmed the deal with XXL. However, they chose to remain mum on the details surrounding the implications of the deal, the monetary value, or when her first solo record would be released.

While we wait for solo music from the femcee, she has recently been working with Lil Kim, who she had a longstanding beef with, in the past. The two traded a number of diss tracks with each other, but it seems like they are ushering in a wave of female artists working together. Remy has expressed discussing a potential collaboration with fellow Bronxite Cardi B.

Randy Moss Responds to Texans Owner: They Own the Team, Not the Players

RadioOnFire.com - Only two days after Houston Texans owner Bob McNair's compared players to prison inmates, Week 8's edition of ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown zeroed in on the topic by turning to co-hosts Charles Woodson and Randy Moss for their take, as former stars in the league.

Woodson said he'd refrain from speaking on whether he imagines he'd be one to protest, out of respect for those who are coming up in a different time and actually dealing with the issue in the locker room each week, but he did assert that all McNair's comments serve to do is validate the reason why Colin Kaepernick sparked the protests in the first place. Moss questioned why it is that the football nation is still "talking about racism and protesting" eight weeks into the season, and placed the onus to "nip it in the bud" on team owners, but not before calling out for the mentality that some of them exhibit towards players.

"What's crazy is that these owners in professional sports think they own us as the players. They really are team owners, they own the team, they don't own the players," said Moss.

Moss' criticism against the ownership mentality may veer from his regular outlook on the protest movement, but his yearning for the NFL to get past the social discourse and get back to the game isn't new. Earlier in the season, the Hall of Fame wideout hoisted J.J. Watt's efforts to raise funds for the Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts as an ideal form of activism, while chastising National Anthem protesters.

“Over the last month, we’ve had a lot of losers out here in our country protesting racism and doing a lot of negative stuff that puts a lot of bad shame on our country,” Moss can be recalled saying at the time

Jam Master Jay's Murder Declared a Cold Case, 15 Years Later

RadioOnFire.com - After 15 years of investigating, the murder of Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay is a cold case. New York City police detectives acknowledge that their investigation into October 30, 2002, killing of Jason Mizell, has gone cold, But some hope that witnesses could still come forward.

“It’s not resolved to the legal eye, but the street always talks,” - Jeremy “JL” Lam, friend of Jam Master Jay

Family members, however, are less hopeful. “We know it’s an anniversary but we don’t like to talk about it much anymore,” said Jay’s older sister, Bonita Jones.

Ryan Thompson, Jay’s Cousin, believes that witnesses may never come forward because they “could go to jail as accomplices.” Ryan also feels that Jay should be remembered: “for the music he created and his kindness.”

The music included turntablism on Run-DMC hits like “King of Rock,” ″It’s Tricky” and a remake of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way.” One of Jam Master Jay’s acts of kindnesses included opening a 24/7 studio in a section of Queens for artists who needed a start. Rap superstar 50 Cent was among those he mentored.

According to reports, Jam Master Jay hugged one of the men before the shooting. One bullet missed him but the second entered the left side of his head. The men took off. It was speculated that Jam Master Jay, who was drowning in debt, may have been killed on orders from someone to whom he owed money.

There were at least four other people in the studio at the time, but none provided enough details to produce a lead. The security camera in the studio was broken and the security guard quit due to lack of pay.

Tomi Lahren Violates Flag Code With Patriotic Halloween Costume

RadioOnFire.com - Look at the hypocrite, disrespecting the flag! SMH The Fox News commentator and former Blaze host, Tomi Lahren, has violated a federal law over the Halloween weekend. On Saturday, Lahren used the American Flag as a cape for her outfit. The full ensemble which stunts a MAGA (Make America Great Again) onesie with a butchered flag attached, allowed Tomi to troll the internet through racist and idiotic click bait.

Lahren’s Caption: "Oh LA get ready to find your safe spaces! Well if you're a conservative, I'm American AF. If you're a lib, I'm "offensive." Let's go. #halloween #MAGA #Merica #makeHalloweenGreatAgain"

Regardless of political preferences, Tomi's costume is a violation of U.S. Code because it does not allow the flag to fall free. For someone who spends a lot of their time and energy criticizing flag-related topics, it’s ironic that she didn’t make sure her costume was at least federal-law compliant before posting it on the Gram.

The United States Flag code, which deals with the do's and don'ts related to the star spangled banner, explicitly outlines that the American Flag is not to be worn or draped. There will most likely be zero consequences for Tomi’s offense, however, it’s fun to watch Twitter drag Tomi once again.

Photos Surface Of Baltimore Students Wearing Racially Offensive Costumes

RadioOnFire.com - Some photos are being shared on social media around Baltimore have two private schools reacting this morning.
WBAL has received a response this morning from both the Gilman School and Roland Park Country School after photos showed up of a student from each school dressed in Halloween costumes that are racially offensive.

WARNING: Some may find the images offensive:
One photo shows a teenage boy and girl with what look like prison uniforms with a caption which features the N word.

There is another single photo of a young man with a prison uniform and the name Freddie Gray on the back of it.

Officials at both private schools say they are taking the situation seriously.
Here a joint statement that was released from Gilman School and Roland Park Country School:
We recently learned of a set of photos, one of which includes a Gilman School student and Roland Park Country School student, that contain highly inappropriate captions, and that are spreading fast through social media. As we quickly try to learn the facts, here is what we know:
The two photographs were taken at different functions and combined together in one social media post.
The young man shown in the picture with the young lady, is not the same young man who is seen in the single photo bearing the name “Freddie Gray” on his outfit.
The persons who wrote the captions seen in the pictures are not students at either one of our schools.
The young man who took the photo of the two minors is not a student at either one of our schools.
The young man who combined the two photos and posted them on social media is not a student at either one of our schools.
Know that we take any situation involving our students seriously, and this is no exception. Please understand that many involved in this situation are minors and we respectfully remind you of this as we work through the details.

André 3000: 'When I Pass Away, People Will Find Hours and Hours of Files'

RadioOnFire.com - André 3000 interviews are few and far between, so whenever the celebrated rapper steps into the limelight for a convo on his latest happenings, it always feels like an event of sorts. His new Q&A with GQ Style is no different.

André sat down with the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Will Welch, for a lengthy talk about where he’s at musically, what he has in the vault, and why his longtime Outkast partner Big Boi is a better rapper than him.

The discussion also touched on a pretty entertaining topic: André, inspired by buying a bootleg Anita Baker shirt, wants to spearhead her official merch line.

On a more personal note, the ATLien revealed the one regret he would have if he died today. "Here’s the only thing that I would regret: Man, you know, there is still that album that you wanted to do."

André previously told Complex he would be at peace if Outkast never dropped another album, and also compared rap to boxing. Here, he used Floyd Mayweather’s career as an analogy for his own.

Check out the interview HERE (the Holiday issue is available on newsstands now) where André also talks about his parents (both have passed) and his partnership with Tretorn.

Two Trump Associates Surrender. Another Pleads Guilty.

RadioOnFire.com - Paul Manafort: Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort surrendered today to special counsel Robert Mueller.

Rick Gates: The former Trump campaign official also turned himself in this morning.
George Papadopoulos: Former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign pleaded guilty for making false statements to the FBI. This is probably the greater revelation when it comes to understanding the investigation of any potential collusion between Russia and people connected to Trump.

There are two sets of charges today, but the second one is probably the greater revelation when it comes to understanding the investigation of any potential collusion between Russia and people connected to Trump. It is clear now that Russia, collusion and coordination are very much of interest to the Mueller investigation still.

The Papadopoulos complaint clearly outlines communications with foreign contacts offering to feed dirt on Hillary Clinton, and also arrange meetings between the campaign and Russian leadership.

The desire for those meetings was communicated multiple times in 2016 to campaign officials, including writing “leadership, including Putin, is ready to meet with us and Mr. Trump should there be interest.”

Now Papadopoulos is cooperating with the FBI after lying to them.

CNN reported in August about some of the Papadopoulos communications. CNN's reporting and the Washington Post was that the meetings were rejected.

Jermaine Dupri: Biggie Pulled a Gun on Lil Kim After He Slept with Her Sister

RadioOnFire.com - Producer Jermaine Dupri has been in the game for over 25 years and has worked with some of the most legendary artists to touch the mic. Recently, during an interview with Noreaga on Drink Champs, JD recalled a time when the late Notorious B.I.G. pulled a gun on Lil' Kim.

The dramas of their relationship are nothing new in hip-hop history but the famed producer shared a story that not many have heard about the duo. JD's interview was nearly three hours long and he discussed some of his memorable studio sessions. He recalled a time when a session for Usher's "Just Like Me" (1997) was interrupted when Biggie held Kim at gunpoint. According to JD, Kim's verse was written by Biggie but after Kim found out that the BK rapper had relations with her sister, and refused to record.

"So what [Biggie] did was he wrote the rap for Lil’ Kim, and Lil’ Kim at this particular point in time, this was the time B.I.G. I’m thinking, he f**ked Kim’s sister," Jermaine stated. "This is in the music though. This is in the music. And she found out about it, so she was upset when she came to the studio about this and he couldn’t really get her to do the rap."

The SoSo Def pioneer said that as the altercation took place, he and Usher just watched. The argument between Kim and Biggie moved to the hall where JD followed. He said: ‘Me and Usher was just, you know, we was there, young, watching what was going on and B.I.G. pulled the strap out on her.’ He then clarified his statements by saying Big backed her down, "to just let her know that he was gonna kill her." JD said Kim "was upset and really couldn't do her verse.'

Listen to JD detail the ordeal at the 21:40 mark.

Chrisette Michele Downhill Since Trump Performance, Gets Dropped by Label

RadioOnFire.com - All of the signs were present for Chrisette Michele to be able to foresee that she'd face tribulation over her choice to perform at Donald Trump's Presidential Inauguration festivities in January. Reports of some of the world's most notable singers - from Elton John, to Celine Dion, to Garth Brooks - turning down invitations were followed by news of Jennifer Holliday backing out over backlash she received for initially agreeing to be a part of the event. Quest Love went so far as to offer to pay Michele to withdraw her name, but she went ahead and unapologetically accepted the $250,000 gig, citing reasons that were bigger than a paycheck. And now it appears that the decision has predictably cost her to the effect of career suicide.

Scrolling back a little over one month's time, Michele's followers on Instagram may pinpoint the very date she hinted at optimistic news concerning her future in the industry. "I can't wait to share what my team and I have been working on with the rest of the world," she is recalled writing in mid-September, with a hashtag that began appearing in her captions only days prior: #StrongBlackWoman. Weeks later a promotional campaign involving the posting of numerous identifiable strong Black women sprouted up on her page, with the images of Michelle Obama, Oprah, Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Hudson, Tracy Ellis Ross, Beyonce and the likes sharing space with a sprawling AD that built anticipation for the tentative project. But then there was her initiation of a Strong Black Woman Challenge that has barely produced any search results in the week since she started it, and it was perhaps at that point that reality hit.

On Friday, October 27 Michele's tone on social media took a sudden turn. The Grammy Award-winning crooner would drop the words "dropped" and "suicidal" in a pair of Instagram posts through which she detailed how such a morbid conclusion has gradually come to manifest for her in both an artistic, and a literal sense. "People ask me how I'm so positive after all I've been thru..... When you're laying in bed naked, next to a bottle of Bacardi and Xanex," Michele's message began. She'd go on to state how many of those she's built with over the past decade, particularly in the fields of community activism and Black empowerment, have turned their backs on her - and how that nearly drove her off of the edge. "When you've drank so much you can't see clearly. And when your speech is so slurred you just stop speaking. You hope you don't wake up," the post, titled "Suicidal Thoughts," read in part.
"Suicidal Thoughts," was the first in a succession of four confessionals Michele put out. She'd follow it up with an entry that was arguably more tragic. In "I Had A Miscarriage," the 34-year-old wrote, "I had a long cycle. Something came out of me. It was my child. The one my love and I worked so hard on. I never knew I could allow myself to be so broken that my physical body would break down. A miscarriage? Me?"
Although Michele dug deep enough to get raw and candid about her challenges, with each post she was also sure to make note of the strength and perseverance it took to have survived. But before concluding her outpouring with a statement on how yoga has helped save her life, Michele revealed in a post titled "They Dropped Me," that after all of the work she had put into promoting and completing her Strong Black Woman album, Capitol and Caroline records went on and released her. And of the series of posts through which Michele opened up about her post-Inauguration tailspin, "They Dropped Me" seemed to close on the most bitter note, although, her words make it clear that she remains no less defiant against her critics than she was when she fired back with her "No Political Genius," spoken word piece in the aftermath of the ordeal.
"How hard can you try to break someone? How hard can you try to ruin someone? How much hate do you need to spew to show me you want to see my demise? I won't stop #StrongBlackWoman," she exclaimed.

Security Guard Fatally Shot St West Baltimore Apartment Complex

RadioOnFire.com - Baltimore police are looking for leads in an overnight shooting that left a security guard dead.
The 29-year-old man was killed while on duty at the Pedestal Gardens Apartments in west Baltimore's Madison Park neighborhood.
Mattie Mortimer, who works security for both a private company and the federal government, lives in Madison Park and said she saw and talked to the guard who was killed many times.
"Why would anybody want to kill him?" Mortimer said. "He was a nice person. He was a real nice person. I never saw him do nothing to anyone around here. He was just keeping everyone safe. He put his life on the line for everyone else, and they going to just kill him like that? For what?"

Police said it's unclear what led to the shooting. Investigators said a security guard flagged down a police officer around 11 p.m. Friday, requesting help. The guard who had been shot was outside the rear of a building in the 1500 block of Eutaw Place, not far from McMechen Street. He died at the scene.
The victim was one of several guards providing security for the Pedestal Gardens Apartments. He worked for Soldier Security and had been on the job less than 30 days.
"And just that little time, his life is gone," Mortimer said.
Some apartment occupants and residents living in the neighborhood would not talk about what happened. Others said they are saddened, but not surprised. Still others who asked not to be identified described how having security has helped the neighborhood.
"Security, I honestly feel safe coming home. I get off at 11 at night, and I see security outside the gate and I feel comfortable," a resident said.

WBAL-TV 11 News contacted Soldier Security and the apartment complex, but neither have returned requests for comment.

Jay-Z Told Talib Kweli He Couldn't Afford "Get By" Remix Verse

RadioOnFire.com - Talib Kweli is set to release his eighth studio album, Radio Silence on November 17th. Earlier this week, the Brooklyn MC stopped by Desus & Mero to promote the album and talk about Dave Chappelle, Black Star, working with Kanye West and much more.

Around the 15-minute mark of the conversation. Kweli shares the backstory behind Hov's guest verse on the remix of his 2003 hit single, "Get By".
"When I first talked to Jay about doing the 'Get By' remix, I sent him a message on a two-way pager and he hit me back months later but asked me for my email address and sent the verse to me, And then when I seen him, I was like, 'Yo, thank you for that, I gotta pay you bro.' He was like, 'You can't afford to pay me for this.' It sounds harsh, but it was brutally honest. He was like, 'What I charge for verses is whole budgets. I'm not going to do that to you.'"
Rappers often trade verses on each other's albums rather than pay a flat fee. However, Hov is ... Hov. For the past 20 years, Jay's price has been rumored to be somewhere between $200k and $1.5M.

'Morning Joe' Hosts Back Suspension of Mark Halperin

RadioOnFire.com - MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski addressed the mounting allegations of sexual harassment against contributor Mark Halperin on "Morning Joe" on Friday, telling viewers that the show supports NBC News' decision to suspend him.

Brzezinski that Halperin is a "friend" of the show, but added that the hosts agreed with the decision of NBC executives to remove Halperin as a contributor for NBC and MSNBC.

“Our hearts break for Mark and his family, because he is our friend. But we fully support NBC’s decision here,” Brzezinksi said to the camera.

“We want to know more about these disturbing allegations,” she added. “We want to know the stories. We need to know what happened. And we’re not going to avoid the story just because he is our friend.”

Reports emerged earlier this week that Halperin had been accused of sexual harassment by at least five women during his time at ABC News in the early 2000s.

He is a longtime contributor to "Morning Joe," and was co-authoring a book with writing partner John Heliemann about the 2016 election. Penguin Press and HBO announced Thursday that plans to publish the book and produce a miniseries based on it have been canceled.

Joe Flacco Out With Concussion. Ravens Beat Dolphins 40-0

BALTIMORE -- Joe Flacco is out of Thursday night's game with a concussion after the Baltimore Ravens quarterback took a vicious shot to the head from Miami Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso.

Flacco looked glassy-eyed as he got up and held the left side of his face while he walked into the locker room for evaluation with three minutes remaining in the first half.

While sliding down after a scramble, Flacco got blasted by Alonso, knocking his helmet off and leading to a scuffle between the two teams. Alonso was flagged for unnecessary roughness but did not draw an ejection. Flacco went to the medical tent and sat out the rest of the second quarter.

Ryan Mallett took his place under center and threw a touchdown to Benjamin Watson, extending the Ravens’ lead to 20-0.

With his team winning comfortably, there was no reason to rush Flacco back in the game. He’ll have 10 days to get cleared before the Ravens’ Week 9 contest with the Tennessee Titans

Keyshia Cole on Dating Floyd Mayweather: I'd Never Survive

RadioOnFire.com - As much as Keshia Cole admires her friend Floyd Mayweather, she said she’d never “survive” in a serious relationship with the undefeated boxer.

Cole recently spoke with Hot 97’s Nessa and addressed some of the recent rumors that pointed to her and Mayweather being an item. The singer clearly distanced herself from the situation. “You know I’d never survive in that equation. I might as well stay with my husband. That makes no sense,” she said. “Even though I super love Floyd. That’s gonna be my friend to the end. I really do have a vibe with Floyd. I love him and he’s been very supportive. Just even giving me inspiration and words of encouragement.”

She also explained why a relationship with the boxer would never work. “Being in a relationship with Floyd, I would be totally hurt in shambles, I’m not that type of girl to be able to deal with that kind of stuff and I don’t think money would make that any better,” Cole continued.

“Not when you’re trying to leave someone that you have a child with because occasionally he steps out.” Cole did confirm that she is talking to someone in the entertainment industry but didn’t reveal his identity. She told Nessa that she’s taking things really slow at the moment.
