Jermaine Dupri: Biggie Pulled a Gun on Lil Kim After He Slept with Her Sister

RadioOnFire.com - Producer Jermaine Dupri has been in the game for over 25 years and has worked with some of the most legendary artists to touch the mic. Recently, during an interview with Noreaga on Drink Champs, JD recalled a time when the late Notorious B.I.G. pulled a gun on Lil' Kim.

The dramas of their relationship are nothing new in hip-hop history but the famed producer shared a story that not many have heard about the duo. JD's interview was nearly three hours long and he discussed some of his memorable studio sessions. He recalled a time when a session for Usher's "Just Like Me" (1997) was interrupted when Biggie held Kim at gunpoint. According to JD, Kim's verse was written by Biggie but after Kim found out that the BK rapper had relations with her sister, and refused to record.

"So what [Biggie] did was he wrote the rap for Lil’ Kim, and Lil’ Kim at this particular point in time, this was the time B.I.G. I’m thinking, he f**ked Kim’s sister," Jermaine stated. "This is in the music though. This is in the music. And she found out about it, so she was upset when she came to the studio about this and he couldn’t really get her to do the rap."

The SoSo Def pioneer said that as the altercation took place, he and Usher just watched. The argument between Kim and Biggie moved to the hall where JD followed. He said: ‘Me and Usher was just, you know, we was there, young, watching what was going on and B.I.G. pulled the strap out on her.’ He then clarified his statements by saying Big backed her down, "to just let her know that he was gonna kill her." JD said Kim "was upset and really couldn't do her verse.'

Listen to JD detail the ordeal at the 21:40 mark.
