Nigerian Senator Asks Kanye West to Visit West African Slave Ports
RadioOnFire.com - The senator of Nigeria wants to educate Kanye West.
The misguided rapper struck nerves everywhere in typical Kanye-fashion. However, instead of through controversial lyrics, it's through his political stance. Ye, the proud Trump supporting artist, destroyed headlines with his "slavery was a choice" commenton TMZ.
Fans and celebrities alike were quick to voice their opinions. Most wasted no time in shaming the Chicago born rapper. Snoop Dogg, for example, has circulated a photoshopped "white man version" of Kanye. One Detroit station refuses to play the rapper's music. Others peacefully announced their disagreement in West's beliefs, while still showing admiration for him as a musician.
One person who is trying to take a different approach through education is Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani. Even though Kanye attempted to clarify his statement by calling "the choice" "mental slavery," the political figure used Twitter to pitch his suggestion to West.
“If @kanyewest thinks Slavery was a choice, we will offer him a free ticket & tour guide to visit slave routes and camps in Badagry Lagos, Ouida Benin Republic, Ghana & Goree Island in Senegal to ‘experience the choices in chains.”
