RadioOnFire.com - A$AP Rocky has already had a strong 2019, as only weeks after headlining a successful Yams Day he was recently seen with dozens of bras around his arms on stage, as it appears that the ladies really love 'pretty flacko.' Meanwhile, in between his west-coast tour dates, A$AP stopped by Real 92.3 in LA to speak on a variety of topics, including where he got some of his original inspiration.
At one point during the interview, Rocky paid major respect to the one and only Soulja Boy, going as far as to say "without Soulja Boy there would be no A$AP Rocky."
When the radio station expressed relative surprise over that declaration, A$AP likened the statement to saying "that it's no different than saying without Kanye and Pharrell I wouldn't have been able to do what I do with fashion."
He then gave credit to Big Soulja for creating the formula that many new artists follow today, referencing his methods of using YouTube and social media directly to bypass all the middlemen in the music industry.
Interestingly enough, despite Big Draco's surprise performance at Yams Day earlier this year, A$AP says he actually hasn't met Big Soulja yet, stating that "he showed up to Yams Day and, unfortunately, I was in the back cursing out some sound people."
In the video above, the Soulja Boy conversation begins at 4:20.
