Roseanne Will Profit Off Reboot Even If She's Not a Part of It

RadioOnFire.com - Should ABC run the second reboot of Roseanne, it will proceed without the inclusion of the lead character, Roseanne Connor. However, actress Roseanne Barr can't be completely left out of the picture. The stand-up comedian-turned television icon owns a stake in the production.

As one of the persons responsible for creating the show in 1988, Barr can actually sue to stop another season from going forward, and should she let the network slide and have at an iteration of Roseanne that focuses' on Sara Gilbert's character (Darlene Connor), she'd likely be rewarded with a piece of the revenue it brings in.

In the week and a half that has passed since she was axed over a racist tweet that compared Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett to an ape, there has been growing talk of ABC potentially carrying on with the episodes it has promised viewers. The problem is one of the executive producers, Marcy Carsey, has been hinting that she may have no interest in doing a "Roseanne" show without Roseanne.

Even if Carsey did give another run a go, her and the remaining producers would have to put their heads together to try and figure out what they'd do to replace her character and any other character she may have domain over and might wish to yank.
