The Florida rapper was reportedly leaving from a motorcycle dealership today when someone ran up to his car and shot him. He is currently awaiting trial on domestic violence charges.
XXXtentacion (born Jahseh Onfroy) was killed in a shooting on Monday in Miami, Broward police have confirmed. The musician was 20 years old.
According to TMZ, the rapper was shot by an unknown gunman in a black Dodge Journey with dark tint and black wheels. "According to the dispatch call the suspects were described 2 black males wearing hoodies, and the shooter was wearing a red mask," TMZ reports.The Broward County Sheriff's Office has confirmed his death on Twitter.
A Louis Vuitton bag was also taken from XXXTentacion's vehicle, according to witnesses.
The rapper released his second album in March, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and included the hits "Sad!" and "Changes." Recently, XXXTentacion was embroiled in a controversy when his music was removed from Spotify as part of a new policy. This stemmed from his 2016 arrest on various charges that includes "witness tampering and aggravated battery of a pregnant woman," according to the New York Times.
