Trump: Why Did Flynn Get in Trouble for Lying to FBI and Not Hillary?

RadioOnFire.com - President Trump reacted to the developments concerning recently convicted felon Michael Flynn by stating his sympathy for his former national security advisor while deflecting talk of criminality onto Hillary Clinton, on Monday, December 4.

Just before parting Washington for a flight to Utah, the President stopped before reporters to deliver a statement concerning Flynn's guilty plea. "I feel badly for General Flynn. I feel very badly. He's led a very strong life, and I feel very badly," Trump said, before redirecting the focus of his ire towards his 2016 Presidential Election rival. "I will say this, Hillary Clinton lied many times to the FBI, nothing happened to her. Flynn lied and they destroyed his life. Very unfair."

Trump made reference to Clinton's response to an FBI inquiry into her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state, under Barack Obama's administration. He accused her of having "lied many times" throughout the July interview; posing that there appears to be a double standard in how the agency approached one investigation in contrast to the other.

Flynn became the biggest name to be brought down by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into illegal communications made between the Trump campaign and a foreign government, when he admitted to meeting with former Russian ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak on Friday. With his admission of guilt, Flynn alleged that he was directed to talk with Kislyak by a higher authority, which continued to raise eyebrows over the possibility that Trump himself may have colluded with the Russian government during the election.
