George H.W. Bush Apologizes After Woman Claims He Groped Her at 16

RadioOnFire.com - Harvey Weinstein, Ed Westwick, Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K., - are all high-profile men who have been accused of some degree of sexual harassment in recent weeks. Joining this list is George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States. (Bush, originally beginning his political career as a chairman for the Republican Party in Texas, had served two presidential terms, 1981 - 1989).

Roslyn Corrigan, whose father is a retired United States Army Intelligence Officer, was brought by her father to meet George H.W. Bush at an event in Woodland, Texas, in November 2003. Corrigan, then just 16 years old, was "groped by the buttocks" by the former president. Corrigan recalls being extremely frightened and disappointed, as she had dreamed of a political career akin to her father's, and had been looking forward to the opportunity to meet Bush.

In a statement directed to USA TODAY, spokesman Jim Mcgrath has issued an apology on behalf of Bush, stating " "George Bush simply does not have it in his heart to knowingly cause anyone distress, and he again apologizes to anyone he offended during a photo op."

This isn't the sole instance of Bush being accused of touching women inappropriately. As many as seven other women have come forward in recent months, describing scenarios similar to Corrigan's.
