RadioOnFire.com - "FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr. Manafort's residences. Mr. Manafort has consistently cooperated with law enforcement and other serious inquiries and did so on this occasion as well," a spokesperson for Manafort told the Washington Post on Wednesday, August 8.
Manafort, who served as Donald Trump's second campaign manager up until August of last year, has come up as a person of interest several times during the ongoing probe into Russian meddling in the election. In July the New York Times exposed Manafort as having been present with Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and a high profile Russian lawyer who in June of 2016 met with them at Trump Tower to offer damaging information on Hillary Clinton. Two months after the alleged meeting Manafort found himself under fire for his financial ties over seas, when it was learned that he may have illegally received $12 million from the Ukrainian government.
According to Washington Post sources, the raid on Manafort's residence was conducted on July 26. Agents reportedly showed up unannounced with a search warrant and left with unspecified documents.
