4-Year-Old Girl, Grandfather Dead After Drowning In Severna Park

RadioOnFire.com - A man and his 4-year-old granddaughter died in an accidental drowning in Severna Park, fire officials said.
Firefighters were called around 1:50 p.m. Thursday to a house in the unit block of Jamar Drive.
Police said a group of children were swimming, and a 4-year-old girl who didn't know how to swim jumped into the deep end. Her grandfather, who also didn't know how to swim, jumped in to try to save the girl.
Firefighters jumped into a swimming pool and removed a 51-year-old man and his granddaughter from the bottom of the pool.
"They made efforts to try and resuscitate them -- a 4-year-old female and a 51-year-old male -- transported them both Baltimore-Washington Medical Center, where tragically they were pronounced dead," Anne Arundel County fire Capt. Russ Davies said.
Police continue to investigate.
