RadioOnFire.com - One person was killed in a police-involved shooting in Catonsville early Tuesday.
It happened at 3:53 a.m. outside the Giant Food store on the 6200 block of Baltimore National Pike and North Rolling Road, police said.
The officer was working a second job as security for Giant when he was told someone was stealing from the store, police said.
The officer confronted the person in the parking lot, police said.
The suspect got into a vehicle and dragged the officer 108 feet, police said. The officer, who feared for his life, shot suspect while being dragged, police said. Police say the officer was not equipped with a body-worn camera, as he had not yet been trained in how to use one.
The officer is OK, police said. No one else was injured.
Homicide detectives are looking for security video as they investigate the incident.
