RadioOnFire.com - According to TMZ, the FBI is stepping in to screen mail addressed to cast of Empire following the attack on actor Jussie Smollet. The Bureau is currently investigating who sent Smollett the hate-filled letter just days before his attack. A private security team has also been hired to work in conjunction with the FBI and have established a protocol for screening incoming mail.
The team alerts the FBI if they come across any threatening letters, specifically those targeting Smollett with racially and sexually charged language. The team has already flagged some incoming mail but say it isn't anything out of the ordinary. Chicago authorities are continuing to investigate the attack.
