RadioOnFire.com - Earlier this year, New York attorney general Barbara Underwood made it known that she had plans suing the Trump Foundation for allegedly violating federal and state law. Now, the Trump Foundation is reportedly shutting down after Underwood officially made the announcement on Tuesday.
According to reports, a court ruled last month that the lawsuit filed against the Trump Foundation by Barbara Underwood was allowed to move forward. As a result, the Trump Foundation is shutting down. Underwood issued a statement fleshing out more of the details, saying “Our petition detailed a shocking pattern of illegality involving the Trump Foundation — including unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more.” She continued, “This amounted to the Trump Foundation functioning as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests.”
President Donald Trump's personal charitable foundation has agreed to dissolve under judicial supervision amid an ongoing lawsuit concerning its finances, according to a document filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court by the New York state Attorney General's office.
Trump commented on the filing of the lawsuit, saying the suit is the work of “sleazy New York Democrats.”
