RadioOnFire.com - According to reports, Former Sacramento Kings player Tyler Honeycutt was pronounced dead via suicide after a shootout and standoff with the LAPD at his home in California.
Police noted they responded to a call that said a man was outside of Honeycutt’s home this past Friday (July 6). They said once officers arrived on the scene, the man fired off a shot at them, which prompted them to fire back. Despite the exchange in gunfire, no cops were harmed.
From there, a standoff began that went on for hours, and a SWAT team eventually made their way into Honeycutt’s home. Once they entered his home, his unresponsive body was discovered. The 27-year-old was declared in his home by the fire department on the scene.
LAPD said Honeycutt appeared “to have sustained injuries consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
