Oprah is 1st Black Woman Listed on Bloomberg's Top 500 Richest People

RadioOnFire.com - According to reports, Oprah Winfrey became the first black woman to make it on Bloomberg’s list of the 500 Richest People in the world.

This past Monday, Winfrey’s fortune reached $4 Billion, which put her at 494 on the list of the 500 richest people in the world. Her ranking was 494, right behind Mark Cuban. Since then, Oprah’s place has risen on the list, as she is now at 489.

The 64-year-old’s place on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index came and was able to rise due to her 2015 investment into Weight Watchers. Reports noted Winfrey put $43 million into the company and received a 10 percent stake. Oprah’s place on the list means there are now 65 women on the list total, with six of them being women entrepreneurs.
