RadioOnFire.com - Lebron James made history once again on Friday night, March 31, when he one-upped Michael Jordan for the most consecutive double-digit scoring games in NBA history.
LeBron came into the game having tied MJ's mark of 866 straight games with ten or more points only two days prior. From the beginning, it was clear that the perennial MVP contender was looking to get the record behind him as swiftly as possible so that he could then go about the business of helping his Cavs improve their chances for home court advantage in the playoffs. Thanks to his production in the first six minutes, he was able set his sights on a 107-102 victory over the Pelicans before the first quarter was done.
Lebron solidified the milestone with a two-handed slam dunk that came at the 5:59 mark of the game. The historic play prompted the Quicken Loans Arena crowd to come to its feet in recognition of their franchise G.O.A.T.
Lebron is cementing his place atop the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, and many others who often share in the company of the great Jordan. The active player with the best chance of approaching Lebron is Kevin Durant, who paces 305 games behind him.
Seeing how it doesn't appear that Lebron will be slowing down anytime soon, many are projecting that it'll be a record that will stand for decades once all is said and done.
