French Montana on Lil Pump: I Love What He's Doing for the Game

RadioOnFire.com - Amid growing skepticism about some of the newer generation of rappers from older artists, French Montana says he admires what Lil Pump brings to hip-hop.

During an interview with LA Weekly, French Montana explains that he appreciates what every rap generation contributes to the game, suggesting the hip-hop will always have “changes.”

“Honestly, you got to respect every generation of hip-hop,” French said. “I love what Lil Pump is doing for the game. I love what Tupac and Biggie did for the game, I also love what Run-DMC and them did for the game. I just feel like the game just changes.”

French maintains that the impact from past artists has helped create more present-day successful rappers as hip-hop has transcended from just music into a “lifestyle.”

“I just feel like right now, there’s more rich rappers than back in the day. “French added. ”Right now it’s more … it became a lifestyle. It just shows growth."

However, French notes that with the diversity of rap currently, those not fond of the music of Lil Pump should listen to other emcees. “Whoever don’t like him, why you listening to him?” French said. There’s still lyrical rappers out here. Whatever kind of rap you want to listen to, go listen to it. I love Lil Pump’s music."
