RadioOnFire.com - El Chapo's wife Emma Coronel is worried that her husband Joaquin (El Chapo) Guzman won't make it to trial due to his health. “(My) main worry is his health because I know he’s in a very bad psychological state. He feels very bad, the lawyers have told me, and that worries me,” she said in front of Brooklyn Federal Court on Tuesday.
Last January, El Chapo was extradited from Mexico to face charges of narco-trafficking. Additional charges include kidnapping, murder, and money laundering.
His lawyer, A. Eduardo Balarezo, says that Guzman will undergo another evaluation by a neuropsychologist soon. Currently, he is being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan. Jury selection in Guzman's trial is scheduled to start in September.
