Officials Say 1 Killed, 5 Others Injured In Crash Near Annapolis

RadioOnFire.com - Authorities say a head-on traffic collision near Annapolis has left one person dead and five others injured, some of whom have life-threatening injuries.

According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, a vehicle was eastbound on Buschs Frontage Road at a high rate of speed when it appears to have crossed the center line and sideswiped a second vehicle before rotating and being stuck by a third vehicle.

Both occupants of the first vehicle, a male and female in their 20s, were flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, an 81-year-old woman, later died of her injuries.

Three others, who had injuries that weren't life-threatening, were taken to an Annapolis hospital. Police say that the preliminary cause of the crash was the failure to remain right of center and excessive speed by the driver of the first vehicle. They also said that they believed that heroin use was a contributing factor.
