Baltimore Ravens Release Veteran Lardarius Webb

RadioOnFire.com - The Baltimore Ravens on Monday released veteran defensive back Lardarius Webb. Webb, entering his tenth season, broke the news himself on Twitter. Baltimore Sun beat writer Jeff Zrebiec later confirmed the move, which frees up $1.75 million in cap space.

A third-round pick in 2009, Webb converted from cornerback to free safety before the 2016 season. He started just three games in 2017, but appeared in all 16, notching 39 combined tackles, two sacks, four passes defensed and two interceptions.

Also on Monday, the Ravens inked guard/tackle James Hurst to a four-year deal. Signed as a rookie out of North Carolina, he has played in 64 consecutive games, starting half of them.

“This is good news for our football team," head coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. “James is a reliable, tough and versatile player who has played a lot of football for us. He has started at both tackle and guard, and all he has been is productive and someone who has made us better.”
