H&M's Profits Hit a 16-Year-Low; Fall 62 Percent in First Quarter

RadioOnFire.com - H&M has been under fire after the controversy surrounding a young Black boy modeling a racially insensitive hoodie went viral. In the days and weeks following, the clothing retailer received excoriating criticism from the general public as well as celebrities, specifically those closely associated with the brand such as The Weeknd and G Eazy. Not to mention their lawsuit with graffiti artists over the right to use their work without permission. And with all that, it seems as though H&M's shaky start to 2018 has been confirmed as their profits have fallen 62 percent in the first-quarter bringing in roughly $150 million to the retailer.

What's more, H&M is pointing to the weather as another factor into the dismal first-quarter performance calling out the irregularity of weather patterns forced the company to frequently shift stock and find ways to get rid of the unsold goods.
