DJ Khaled, Nipsey Hussle, Luol Deng Looking to Buy Santa Monica Hotel

RadioOnFire.com - Hip-hop is continuing to prove that it can provide the necessary funds to become an entrepreneurial enterprise. We've seen some of the most legendary artists in the culture become lucrative businessmen, and now it looks like some of the succeeding generations are beginning to curate their own business models.

This time around, David Gross, the mastermind behind Vector90, the STEM programs launching across the country for inner-city youth to get their hands on technological and reference resources for personal and industry growth, in partnership with Nipsey Hussle, is looking to make yet another big move in the form of real estate assets.

An investment syndicate led by David Gross and R. Donahue Peebles has teamed up with the likes of DJ Khaled, Nipsey Hussle, and current Los Angeles Lakers' forward, Luol Deng in acquiring the lease of the Viceroy Santa Monica Hotel. LaSalle Hotel Properties, the current leaseholders to the upscale hotel, has been shopping the lease since August of last year and are looking for developers to take the bill off of their hands.

According to David Gross, if the bid is won by his investment group, it will be the first minority-led group to administer high-end hotel property in Santa Monica. This what Gross had to say about acquiring the property:

“The Viceroy is one of my favorite hotels in the Los Angeles area... It has an incredible location and an understated, cool vibe. My partners and I are uniquely capable of repositioning the property as the luxury, boutique hotel with the most dynamic hospitality experience in Santa Monica, and the Westside of LA generally.”

As of right now, a price tag hasn't been revealed to the general public for the acquisition of the 162-room hotel property.
