Teens Passed Gun Around Before Deadly Accidental Shooting in Florida

RadioOnFire.com - In Fort Lauderdale, Florida a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with manslaughter for fatally shooting his 14-year-old friend. Police reports from the incident said that the two 14-year-old boys, as well as the victim's older brother, were playing with the gun when it went off. The boys allegedly found the gun that was in a gun box, which was placed inside a cardboard box. The shooter noticed the gun had a clip in it, which he took out. Then he pulled the slide of the gun back and noticed that there was no round in the chamber. The 14-year-old noted that from there, he pulled the trigger a few times and then the victim's older brother pulled it as well. However, when the shooter took the gun back and pulled the trigger, it went off and killed the victim. The bullet went straight into the victim's head.
Police arrived on the scene and interviewed the 14-year-old and the victim's brother before arresting and taking the shooter into custody. Sheriff Scott Israel gave a statement on the shooting, saying, "It's with a real heavy heart that we have this tragedy, that youngster lost his life. Our deputies arrived at the scene and we come in contact with three juveniles. One of whom was tragically deceased. It looks like he died of a gunshot wound."
