Mark Cuban: Trump's Immigration Ban Forces Companies to Discriminate

RadioOnFire.com - Billionaire investor Mark Cuban denounced President Donald Trump's executive order to set restrictions and bans on travel from the Middle East on Wednesday, February 1. During a phone call that was televised live on MSNBC at around 9:30 a.m., the Dallas mogul explained how it is that the travel ban now impacts business for people like him, suggesting that it now puts them in a position where they have no choice but to profile.
"The day before the travel ban if I was looking to invest in a new start-up, if the kid has a green card, great, you know. If they have a dual citizenship, great. I never investigated their genealogy," Cuban said. "That all changed after the travel ban. Now I have to consider those things. If I'm going to go and invest in an Indiana University, Stanford, MIT, University of Texas grad who I think has a great idea for neuro networks, now I have to say to myself, you know, what is the ethnicity of this person? What about their parents? What about their relatives? Is this potentially going to be an issue?"
Cuban joined a whole host of public figures from the world of business, government, the media, sports and entertainment who've come out against Friday's executive order. On Tuesday, former First Lady Hillary Clinton denounced the order, as did her daughter Chelsea. The daughter of former President George W Bush, Jenna, also chastised the order, calling it un-American. Despite the criticism, and the ruling by a federal court in Brooklyn, to impose a stay on parts of the legislation, the President has pushed forward. The Trump administration defends that the restrictions were put in place under extraordinary circumstances and that it is not permanent. They contend that the measures are being carried out for the security of the nation.
On Monday, acting Attorney General Sally Yates rebelled against Trump's order, contacting her subordinates to encourage them to refuse implementing the order. Yates was immediately fired for her insubordination, and replaced by Immigration and Customs Enforcement Associate Director, Thomas Homan.
