Boy Scouts of America Will Now Allow Transgender Boys

RadioOnFire.com - After much consideration, Boy Scouts of America announced that they will allow transgender boys to join, reversing a stance of more than a century. The organization sent out a statement on the decision, explaining the decision was made "as communities and state laws are interpreting gender identity differently."
The full statement read, “For more than 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America, along with schools, youth sports and other youth organizations, have ultimately deferred to the information on an individual’s birth certificate to determine eligibility for our single-gender programs. However, that approach is no longer sufficient as communities and state laws are interpreting gender identity differently, and these laws vary widely from state to state.”
This isn't the first time the Boy Scouts have revised rules for joining the organization. In 2013, they allowed gay ended its ban on openly gay youth, and two years later it allowed gay adult leaders to join.
