On August 5, 2013, a 17-year-old female was sitting at a bus stop located at the intersection of Baltimore and Hilton Street when a suspect approached the victim and grabbed her around her neck. The suspect threatened her and then forced her to walk into the alley. The victim was assaulted by the suspect before he fled from the scene.
On August 19, 2015, while passing a parked vehicle, a female jogger was grabbed and forced into a car by the suspect, in the 100 block of West Lafayette Avenue. The suspect was armed with a handgun. The victim was driven around for a period of time, physically threatened and sexually assaulted.
On August 31, 2015, a 26-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop in the 2800 block of Frederick Avenue when a suspect approached her with a knife and ordered her to walk to the rear of that location. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim.
Based on similarities in several of these cases along with DNA comparisons, Michael Privette was arrested on September 2, 2015 and charged with rape, kidnapping, and various sex offense and assault related charges. Between September 2, 2015 and today’s date, detectives worked to link Privette to the additional cases.
