Update: Police Reportedly Confirm Video of a Rope Around Jussie Smollett's Neck

RadioOnFire.com - Ever since the news of an alleged hate crime against Jussie Smollett made headlines, the public has expressed unanimous outrage over the heinous attack, demanding that the suspects should be caught and brought to justice. Initially, however, there was very little evidence released to support the claims of such an attack, whereas many people wondered how there couldn't be any surveillance footage that captured the moment in downtown Chicago.

Now, over 48 hours removed from the initial story, police have reportedly confirmed that they do have surveillance footage that appears to back up the actor's version of events, as Smollett can be seen in the lobby of his building with a rope around his neck. As ABC News has it reported, Smollett appears on camera "wearing a rope like a necktie."

Furthermore, a woman from his building who asked to not be identified, told TMZ that she saw a strange man pacing around the parking garage around 12:30 AM of the morning in question. She described the man as looking like a "redneck," and said that he appeared to have a rope or clothesline protruding from the bottom of his sweatshirt. She then claimed that the man was staring at another man who stood approximately 300 feet away, before she got "creeped out" and went back inside the building. Upon hearing the news the woman then contacted the police.

With the suspects still at large and more questions remaining, it's unknown if the new surveillance footage will be released to the public.
