RadioOnFire.com - The long-awaited, JAY-Z-produced documentary chronicling the shooting death of Black teen Trayvon Martin at the hands of a vigilante neighborhood patrol-man, George Zimmerman has gotten a release date.
"Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story," will be released on July 30th with the official trailer for the doc provided by Roc Nation. The trailer features snippets of interviews with Trayvon's parents, along with images of Zimmerman and footage from the countless protests and marches that his death sparked.
This isn't Hov's first foray into social justice based documentary production. His riveting docu-series on the late Kalief Browder entitled, Time: The Kalief Browder Story, gave voice to larger issues with the incarceration system, particularly in Hov's hometown of NYC and the infamous Rikers Island. It would seem as though this project focusing on Trayvon will be just as gripping.
