RadioOnFire.com - Florida police sprung into action to neutralize the threat of a gunman who is reported to have fired shots on one of Donald Trump's golf course properties, while railing against the President, early Friday morning, May 18.
At around 1:30 a.m. officers from the Doral Police Department and Miami-Dade PD arrived at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in response to reports of an armed man occupying the resort's hotel lobby. The gunman had reportedly draped the lobby counter with an American flag that he took down from another part of the complex and then proceeded to shout "anti-Trump" rhetoric.
At one point the suspect, who has been identified as Jonathan Oddi, 42, began shooting up at a chandelier hanging from the ceiling - but at no point did he fire on civilians. Judging by the way the encounter unfolded, investigators believe Oddi intended on luring law enforcement agents into a gunbattle. Of the five officers who eventually engaged him, one wound up injured with broken bones, although they did not result from bullet wounds. Oddi, on the other hand, was shot several times during the exchange that ensued.
Authorities are looking into how Oddi was able to trespass onto the property, as it has been confirmed that he wasn't a guest at the establishment at the time. Meanwhile, the FBI and Secret Service have taken over the investigation and the results of a search warrant that was exercised to enter the man's residence, are pending.
