RadioOnFire.com - LL Cool J told PageSix at the BCRF Hot Pink Party that cancer has hit close to home for the star: His wife, Simone, survived bone cancer after she was diagnosed in 2004.

“Economics is always a big issue . . . and that is a bigger issue that affects everything — health, food, nutrition and education,”

he said of finding a cure.

“That is a much bigger discussion that I can’t do in a sound bite right now. But I will say this is really important that we do research — because that is the only way that we can find a cure — and if we find a cure, then we can figure out to make sure all the people who need the cure have it.”

Mary J. Blige performed at the Park Avenue Armory, and LL Cool J told us, “I love Mary’s catalog — there is no favorite Mary song.”

The gala, which raised $5.5 million, was emceed by Elizabeth Hurley and included a video message from Elton John
