Lifetime to Produce R. Kelly Docuseries Featuring Alleged Sex Slaves

RadioOnFire.com - The story that Buzzfeed brought to public consciousness last year about a sex cult that R. Kelly is allegedly running out of his Chicago and Atlanta homes will soon make it to the small screen with the help of families that launched the accusations against him in the first place.
In collaboration with activist and filmmaker, Dream Hampton, television network Lifetime has announced plans to deliver a docuseries that follows relatives of three women named in the case against Kelly. Earlier this month TMZ released a couple of videos that show 22-year-old Jocelyn Savage shopping out on the streets of Los Angeles. One clip features Savage in the company of Kelly, while the other shows her seeming to enjoy some alone time on the strip. In spite of Savage's claims that she has been residing with Kelly by choice, her father Tim Savage has remained persistent in his pursuit of justice against the R&B star.

Mr. Savage believes Jocelyn suffers from Stockholm Syndrome as a victim of brainwashing and manipulation by Kelly. He has in the past called for welfare checks that sent authorities to visit Kelly's residence, but officers have stated that their hands are tied because the women they came in contact with were of age. A recent Washington Post expose covered the accounts of women who confirm the Buzzfeed article's allegations of Kelly revoking communication, physically isolating them, and controlling the language used by the women as a method of control in his two mansions.
Along with the Savage family, the Lifetime series will give an opportunity for the mother of Dominique Gardner, Michelle Gardner, to tell her story. Mrs. Gardner claims to have spotted her daughter in one of the TMZ clips of Savage and has leveled similar claims against Kelly. Father of alleged victim Azriel Clary, Angelo Clary, is the third person heavily involved in the upcoming production. In addition to the series, Lifetime has stated plans to produce a movie on the scandal.
