RadioOnFire.com - "Love & Hip Hop: New York" star Amina Buddafly recently dropped her new album "MOTHER". I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I received the project. I was unsure what I would hear. What does she have to say? I thought I knew all I needed to know about her from watching the doomed relationship with the infamous Peter Gunz! I was however, very wrong.
Amina (formally known as lead singer of the group "Black Buddafly") was born and raised in Hamburg Germany. She is now divorced from the "Uptown Baby" rapper Peter Gunz - a step in the right direction. But let's get back to the album, it is fire! Amina shows pain, venerability and strength within the 46:40 minutes of "MOTHER"
She seems to know what she wants from her next relationship. On the song "My Next Guy" she asks "Can I find a real man out there" I just want to feel that something that I can't describe."
Motherhood has clearly changed the reality star for the better. It has made her determined. The title track "MOTHER" and accompanying music video directed by Milan Zoe are powerful. She proudly stated "I been working hard to make them see I've been thinking about me." As she sings with the piano, you can't help but respect the sacrifice mothers make.
"MOTHER" is a triumphant project with several standout cuts. Amina Buddafly manages to channel the pain of her past without coming across bitter. The last song "Happy" feat Novel says it all. This was a pleasant surprise. Fans of real R&B will love this.
