Mitt Romney Taunts Russell Westbrook For Nearly Fouling Out
RadioOnFire.com - On Monday night (April 23) basketball fans who were tuned in for the matchup between the Jazz and the Thunder came to recognize that Utah has Mitt Romney as its most passionate fan through the first round of the Eastern Conference playoff.
Vivint Smart Home Arena was definitely pumping through four quarters of action that saw Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Ricky Rubio, Joe Ingles, Jae Crowder and the gang chip away at OKC and its big three.
But it was during the second quarter that the Jazz stormed back from an opening deficit to take the lead going into the half. And just before parting for the midway point, coach Billy Donovan was forced to sit Russell Westbrook the rest of the way on account of him devolving deep into foul trouble.
With 1:36 left on the clock and Utah finally up 50-49 when the reigning MVP made his exit, the crowd went into complete pandemonium. Before going to commercial, network cameras panned over to Romney, who is currently running to replace Orrin Hatch for his Senate seat.
Smiling ear to ear, the former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Presidential candidate lifted four fingers to signal the number of fouls Westbrook had accrued. He leaned forward and held them up for a brief moment to pretty much ensure that the Thunder guard was looking at him, too.
