RadioOnFire.com - If you were still wondering if Jermall Charlo’s power is for real at 160 pounds, the answer looks to be a resounding “yes.”
After a quiet first round, Charlo knocked out Hugo Centeno Jr in the second round of tonight’s bout at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, dropping Centeno with a two right hands, a left hook, and a final right hand in combination.
The official time of the knockout was 55 seconds of round two.
Charlo improves to 27-0 (21 KO) with the victory, and also gains the interim WBC middleweight title.
The full belt is held by Gennady Golovkin, who fights on May 5 against Vanes Martirosyan, and Charlo addressed the champion after the bout.
“Two-time world champion! Bring on GGG, I don’t wanna talk about it!” Charlo said after the fight. “I’m ready! I’m ready, man!”
