Police Ramp Up Search For Detective Suiter's Killer

RadioOnFire.com - Authorities have ramped up efforts Friday to find out who shot and killed Baltimore police homicide Detective Sean Suiter.

Police cadets were going door-to-door looking for information and searching vacant homes in west Baltimore.

Suiter, a husband and father of five, was pronounced dead Thursday. He was 43 years old.

Suiter was shot in the head just before 5 p.m. Wednesday while working a case, along a particularly violent block on Bennett Place. He was rushed to Shock Trauma, where he died around noon Thursday surrounded by his wife and children.

Police on Friday confirmed that a multi-car collision on Wednesday that involved a BPD patrol car was carrying gravely wounded Suiter to the University of Maryland Medical Center, police said. Suiter was then transferred to an ambulance that took him to Shock Trauma.
