RadioOnFire.com - Earlier this morning, we reported that rapper Lil Peep died at age 21 from an apparent drug overdose. The news did not come as a surprise to many closest to the controversial star, with his manager claiming he expected the call informing him of Peep's death for the last year.
Lil Peep began to make music after dropping out of high school in Long Island, releasing several projects on SoundCloud and YouTube. He gained a substantial following after releasing his debut album in August of this year, accumulating millions of views.
The artist was known best for blending emo and hip-hop together in a unique style that eventually rewarded him with a massive online following, including support from major artists. Lil Peep, real name Gustav Åhr, is said to have ODed on Fentanyl along with Xanax pills, though this is yet to be confirmed according to Billboard. Other reports suggest that the overdose is a suspected suicide.
In addition to admitting to having taken six Xanax pills the day prior to his passing, Peep also left a disturbing Instagram post that seemingly foreshadows his death. "When I die you'll love me," the controversial rapper wrote under a picture he posted to Instagram. The initial quote was not disturbing, but paired with his death by overdose with some reports of possible suicide, the message becomes extremely grim.
