RadioOnFire.com - The gunman who shot up a Texas church and left more than two dozen dead over the weekend has been identified as Devin P. Kelley, of New Braunfels.
Kelley was found lifeless in his car, not far from the Sutherland Springs scene of the attack. It is still unknown whether the gunshot wound that killed him was self-inflicted or the result of an exchange of fire with the civilian who chased him away. Investigators say that they also remain clueless as to what could have driven the 26-year-old to open fire on worshipers as they observed their Sabbath. Up until this point, there has been no evidence that he operated in coordination with, or belonged to, any foreign or domestic terrorist organizations.
What authorities do know is that Kelley served in the military as a servicemember with the U.S. Air Force between 2010 and 2014. He had a checkered history in the force, having been court-martialed, confined, reduced in rank and ultimately given a dishonorable discharge for assaulting his spouse and child in 2012.
Apparently, Kelley came dressed the part when he arrived at the First Baptist Church at around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday. He was dressed in black tactical gear, and entered the service of about 50 people, armed with a high powered assault rifle. Multiple weapons were recovered from Kelley's car.
In addition to the 26 confirmed dead at the church, 10 have been confirmed wounded. The victims ranged in age from 5 to 72-years-old.
