RadioOnFire.com - Top Rank Promotions star Terence Crawford moved closer to the top of boxing's pound-for-pound list with an impressive knockout victory over champion Julius Indongo on Saturday, August 19. With the win, Crawford improved his record to 32-0 with 23 k.o.'s and became the first fighter in 12 years to unify the division titles.
Prior to collecting the WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF junior welterweight world champion belts Crawford put that work in-between the ropes. Although he was the favorite among oddsmakers, many were curious to see how difficult a task it would be to defeat Indongo, who with an undefeated record of 22-0 with 11 k.o.'s was himself regarded as one of the best fighters in the sport. Indongo, like the nearly two dozen who went out with their backs on the mat v.s. Crawford, went out in the same fashion, falling to the canvas with a crippling body blow in the 3rd round.
Crawford now holds the distinction of undisputed champion, which hasn't been bestowed upon a fighter since Jermain Taylor cleared Bernard Hopkins of all four of the major middleweight belts in 2005.
