RadioOnFire.com - Ocean City police say the death of a vacationer found dead on the beach Monday has been ruled accidental.
Ashley O'Connor, 30, of Plano, Texas was found dead in a hole covered by sand that morning. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled her death was caused by asphyxia due to suffocation.
Police believe she walked onto the beach alone at around 2 a.m. It's not known if she fell into the hole or got in on her own.
Part of the beach was closed through late Monday afternoon as Ocean City police and Maryland State Police worked to recover the body.
