RadioOnFire.com - President Trump responded to Saturday's [August 12] developments in Charlottesville, VA with a set of tweets, in which he explained he had to break from the national security briefings he had lined up in order to address the tragedies that had taken place during the "Unite The Right" white supremacy march that took over the city. After tweeting that "We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for," trump advanced to the podium, so that he may speak on the violence with words, but rather than ridicule the organizers of the demonstration or denounce their ideology, he denounced "hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides, on many sides." Many felt as though he had failed to call out the parties responsible for attacks that took place. One entity that disagreed and concurred with the President's announcement, however, was white supremacist publication, the Daily Stormer.
"Trump comments were good. He didn't attack us. He just said the nation should come together. Nothing specific against us. He said that we need to study why people are so angry, and implied that there was hate... on both sides! So he implied the antifa are haters," is what the Daily Stormer claimed to take away fro the President's comments. "There was virtually no counter-signaling of us at all. He said he loves us all. Also refused to answer a question about White Nationalists supporting him. No condemnation at all. When asked to condemn, he just walked out of the room. Really, really good."
President Trump has long been criticized for his refusal to refute supporters from the far right. On several occasions during his Presidential run he actually retweeted the remarks of popular social media users known for espousing views on white supremacy. There was even a controversy over his refusal, for a time, to disavow supportive statements coming from former KKK leader David Duke. If there was anyone from the fringe right who let it be known that they weren't satisfied with Trump's rebuke of news coming out of Charlottesville, it was Duke, who tweeted, "I would recommend you take a good look in the mirror & remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists."
