Iverson Suspended After Missing BIG3 Game, Ice Cube Gives Explanation

RadioOnFire.com - It has been announced that Allen Iverson will sit out the BIG3 league's Week 7 action in Lexington, KY, as a consequence of the disappearing act he pulled in Dallas this past weekend.
All eyes were on Ice Cube and BIG3 commissioner Roger Mason Jr. on Sunday, July 31, when it became apparent that the NBA legend and league's biggest star was nowhere to be found. A statement was issued after the game, in which Cube and Mason Jr. admitted to being in the dark about Iverson's whereabouts. Following a day of awkward silence, it was learned that the NBA Hall of Famer had been out late at a casino the night prior. He has since issued an apology on the matter and promised to make up for letting the fans and his peers down.

While Iverson will miss the next game, he will be back for the final week of regular season play, before playoffs begin in Seattle on the 20th. Ice Cube has issued a statement on the suspension in which he expresses gratitude for having the legend's name attached to the BIG3 but contends that the decision had to do with restoring integrity in the vision he has for the company, and its future. "We talked about holding up the legitimacy of the league, and he knows that him not showing up hurts us,” said Cube. “Who’s happy to be suspended? Nobody. But he understands that it’s a necessary step in the development of the BIG3 who don’t believe what we’re doing and what we’re going to do in the future. Our league is bigger than one man, and we’ve got Hall-of-Famers, champions, All-Stars, first-round picks, and we have to think about them. He understands that.”
