RadioOnFire.com - Following cancellations in three different states, R. Kelly's concert woes continued on Thursday, August 3, with word getting around that a group of influential local citizens had petitioned Live Nation to cancel his show at the Wolf Creek Amphitheater later this month.
Over the past week or so Kelly shows have fallen through in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Dallas. Protests over his alleged brainwashing of a cult of women who reside with the r&b star have continued to impact ticket sales. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners has now joined the fight, with the demand that the company removes Kelly from his August 24 date. It has been reported that Live Nation responded by stating that it has no intentions of canceling Kelly's tour at the moment.
Some say they are fully committed to showing up at Wolf Creek should the show go on. And they will have their picket signs with them. "If Live Nation continues with this concert, then we are prepared to address that," said petition organizer Kenyette Barns, who started the petition. "Right now, we have a planned protest the day of the concert. We are prepared to exercise our First Amendment right under the Constitution of the United States, and we as taxpayers are willing to protest the concert."
