RadioOnFire.com - Following a Syrian missile strike, news has broken that a U.S. warship that struck Syria is heading towards the Korean peninsula. A U.S defense official confirmed the news to CNN. According to the network, the move is being considered as a warning to the North Korean government. The commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, Admiral Harry Harris shifted the USS Carl Vinson strike group to sail in the direction of the Western Pacific after leaving from Singapore this past Saturday. This is coming after North Korea launched a scud extended-range missile that exploded in the air days ago.
This is not the first instance in recent times that North Korea has initiated some kind of "test" of weapons, as they claimed to have successfully let off a nuclear warhead in September 2016. North Korea is allegedly researching various nuclear weapons as a means to protect themselves from "U.S. aggression." The shift of the strike group is following a summit meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Trump, where they discussed North Korea. According to Rex Tillerson, the U.S. Secretary of State, both Xi, and President Trump were in agreement of the urgency of nuclear weapons program that North Korea is trying to establish.
