RadioOnFire.com - With a surge in police brutality complaints towards the NYPD in the past few years, many have taken the liberty of using their cell phones to record interactions between police and the citizens they are speaking with. Now, a video of an NYPD officer threatening to use a taser on Brooklyn high school students has surfaced.
The video shows two officers speaking to students near Midwood High School in Brooklyn. While speaking to the students, the officers were trying to get the kids to move away from the corner of Bedford Avenue. When the cops attempted to talk to the students, the students began to talk back. From there, one of the officers pulled out a taser.
Once the officer pulled out his taser, he said, "Do you wanna ride the lightning?" to one of the students. Essentially, he threatened the students with his taser. The officer then said "you better walk away" as the teenagers crossed the street. An NYPD spokesperson said, "We are aware of the video and the matter is under internal review." According to NYPD guidelines, tasers "should generally not be used on children."
