Former Math Teacher Convicted Of Sexual Assault On Student

RadioOnFire.com - A former Arundel High School math teacher was found guilty Thursday of sexually abusing a student.
Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams announced Monday that a jury found Nathan Lee Martin, 39, guilty of sex abuse of a minor, fourth-degree sex offense by a person in a position of authority, fourth-degree sexual contact and second-degree assault.
"We should be able to entrust our children to the care of our teachers," said Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams. "I'm glad the jury held this criminal accountable for his actions."
In December, the 16-year-old victim and her parents told police Martin summoned her to a closet at the back of a classroom where he then touched her buttocks and placed his face on her chest area.
Judge Michele Jaklitsch set sentencing for Sept. 12. Martin faces up to 25 years in prison and lifetime registration as a sex offender.
