SMH State Rests In Trial Of Lt. Brian Rice; 1 Charge Dismissed


RadioOnFire.com - Proceedings are set to continue for the fourth Baltimore police officer being tried on charges arising from the death of Freddie Gray, a young black man severely injured last year in police custody.
The bench trial of Lt. Brian Rice, the highest-ranking officer charged in the death of Freddie Gray, was scheduled to resume Monday. Rice is facing manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office charges.
Timeline: 
2:48 p.m.
After a defense motion to dismiss all charges, Judge Barry Williams dismissed the assault charge against Rice. Three other charges, including involuntary manslaughter remain.
2:30 p.m.
After presenting 13 witnesses, including fellow officers involved in Gray's arrest, the prosecution rested its case against Rice early Monday afternoon.
