RadioOnFire.com - A member of the legendary rap group Public Enemy, Professor Griff, continued to fight off speculation that he was in any way associated with police assassin Micah Johnson, on Saturday, June 9. Griff took to Twitter in the a.m. hours, re-posting various articles reporting his denial of the claims a day after The Daily Mail published a photo of him posing for a picture with the former Army Reservist. He had spent much of Friday proclaiming his innocence.
"As you seek to detained Me and or arrest me, I will not sit idle and watch you frame me," Griff tweeted. "The police and FBI have been watching me and tapping my phone they know who I talk too, I DO NOT KNOW THE SHOOTER."
Griff may be tapped to meet with investigators, as the Dallas police department mentioned the photo in a report that references his book "A Warrior's Tapestry," and characterizes his ideals as born from a "radical form of Afrocentrism." PE lead man Chuck D has come to his comrade's defense, blasting the media for grouping the two together and citing the fact that taking photos with strangers is part of being a public figure. He then turned the focus readers' skepticism on Johnson's military past, writing, "TRAGEDY & this person was 25. Sent trained to war. PTSD clearly. Wisdom is RARELY spread to this generations anger & energy. WE MUST TEACH."
