RadioOnFire.com - A storm that's thousands of miles away from Baltimore Wednesday night will bring some accumulating snow to Maryland over the weekend.
Marie says the roads will turn slick quickly Saturday night due to below freezing temperatures.WBAL-TV 11 Weather Chief Meteorologist Tom Tasselmyer said the storm will be moving across the country over the next couple days. Meteorologist Ava Marie predicts it will arrive in Maryland around 8 p.m. on Saturday and last into Sunday afternoon.
Baltimore City Interim Health Commissioner Mary Beth Haller issued a preemptive Code Blue alert from Thursday evening through Friday morning. Three deaths in the city have been tied to cold weather so far this winter.
“Extreme cold temperatures can permanently injure, or even kill," Haller said in a statement. "Please be sure to check on neighbors that you think may be at risk to ensure that they have heat and power. and take care to shelter pets appropriately.”
The second piece of the storm will likely be south, so heavier accumulation should just miss our area, Marie says.
The storm will not have much moisture as a storm would if it moved up the coast.
But very early accumulation forecasts indicate as much as 2 to 4 inches of snow possible in the Baltimore area and the Eastern Shore, with higher amounts possible south and west of the city.
