RadioonFire.com - R. Kelly tried to keep officials out of his controversial music studio, but now a judge has ordered the singer to open his doors and cooperate with an inspection.
A Cook County judge granted the city’s request on Friday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The inspection has been ordered to take place at noon on January 16.
Attorneys for the city believe the brick building is being used as a recording studio and residence, despite the place only being zoned as an industrial property.
The company who owns the building was willing to let officials inside, but told the court they did not have a key and could not access the building.
As we reported, the property is currently for sale, and R. Kelly is actually getting evicted for failing to pay his rent. The realtor, who does not represent Kelly, has also been receiving death threats from people who think he is representing the singer.
The music studio was showcased as a major epicenter of alleged abuse in the Lifetime documentary, “Surviving R. Kelly.”
