Chicago Will Be Colder Than Antarctica This Week at a Record Minus-27 Degrees

RadioOnFire.com - If you're in the midwest this week and you're thinking it's the coldest it's ever been, that's because the readings indicate that's exactly the case. According to meteorologist Ryan Maue of weathermodels.com, approximately 250 million people (77% of the continental US population) will face temperatures below freezing this week, while 90 million will endure temperatures below zero. Furthermore, another 25 million Americans could see temperatures fall to 20 degrees below zero, as Chicago is expected to hit a record-low of minus-27 degrees Fahrenheit.

Temperatures are expected to plummet to 20-40 degrees below zero between Tuesday and Thursday in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, while the National Weather Service has issued a warning that icy roads will make it too difficult to operate vehicles.

Meanwhile, schools across the country have shut down due to the extrem
e weather, which has already led to 3,480 US flights cancellations and two reported deaths.
